hello everyone, this is pertaining to the chalet. PLEASE READ THIS AS THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
as you all know (hopefully), the price each person has to pay for the chalet has increased to 18$ per person from 15$. this is because Aranda does not allow us to consult public catering, and instead, they provide their own catering services, which is, of course, more expensive. we do not really have a choice because if we are caught with public catering, we will be fined 300$. so that's why we have decided to go for Aranda's catering for the first day of the chalet only, and this is due to several reasons:
1. Main comms of respective schools have leadership training camp and will only be able to come on the first day of the chalet. 2. on the second day, it has come to our attention that several people will be going clubbing, so it will be useless to have catering when so many people will be gone when they have paid for the catering.
also, the reason why we chose not to have a barbeque is because of the problems we have faced during our Rinku GL chalet, where there was insufficient and expensive food and we do not want to face this problem again, so please understand our decision. also, there were some conflicts during the barbeque, as it is very difficult to appease so many hungry people when only a few who wish to volunteer to cook, plus, there's only one BBQ pit.
that said, we shall go into more details about the chalet and it's cost. the chalet itself costs $513.60, because it is during peak period. besides this, the catering costs 516$, which amounts to approximately 1030$. first and foremost, you guys should really be grateful and thank dolyce for coming up with the cost of everything all by herself, as we do not think that anyone would be willing to come up with such a big amount first. with that said, some of you have not made things easy by: asking if you can pay less if you do not eat the catered food/do not stay in the chalet. confirmed that you're coming and cancel in the end. keep nagging for BBQ.
if you actually think about it, just by paying ONLY 3$ extra, you are confirmed being fed for the first night of the chalet, which is cheaper than eating out. we know some of you really have plans that clash with the chalet that you cannot cancel, but since you have confirmed your presence in the chalet at an earlier date, we think it's only right you pay the same amount as the rest, because if you don't, dolyce will be the one covering the cost for you. for this, we will give leeway here and there AFTER the chalet (after discussion between the organisers).
c'mon guys we really need your cooperation in this, as we are working very hard to make this chalet as fun as possible for you guys. please spread the word about this post to other Rinkus, and this would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday :)
anyway people! because there's a high high high chance of food shortage. cause we have alot of big eaters. do you guys mind bring food to the chalet? like cook fried rice, or mee or something. then we can smuggle into the chalet! so there will be sufficient food for everybody to fill their stomach! :)

the chalet is $514. +- 60 people going. (that is if 60 people do turn up) $18 * 60pax = $1080 $1080 - $514 = $566
the catering is $12++ per person. (+- $14?) $566 / $14 = 40pax food.
so it's 40pax food for 60people. i don't think you guys wanna pay above $18 right. so is 40pax food okay?
cause i really don't wanna order more then got money that cannot be settled. and in the end do last min collection at the chalet which is really not ideal.
really sorry for the last min update k! if there's not huge responses from you all, i'm gonna take it as it's okay? so if you have any comments, just spam the blog.
catering will be on the first day of the chalet, 8th june. as the main comms will not be able to make it on the 2nd day. and people wanna go clubbing on the 2nd day.

for the person who really wants the bbq. i hope you understand that bbq require cooking and not everybody wants to bbq the food. and it's not fair for the people who volunteered to bbq but get remarks like "why so long", "the chicken not cook", "you all cook not nice", "why the chicken cold one", etc. so i hope you'll understand why we chose to do catering instead of bbq. unless you offer to bbq food for everyone the whole night and not grumble when people make remarks.

there's no changes to the details of the chalet. everything's still the same. 8th to 10th june. aranda country club chalet. there will be catering of food for one of the nights. then we'll prolly buy some food to stock up in the chalet if there's excess money.
everybody prepare bout $15 for the chalet & catering okay. excluding $ for outside expenses.

our beloved Ronald is having a dancing competion every saturday for the next three weeks and he'd love it if us Rinku people were present as he loves us a lot and it would mean a lot to him :D (aww, cheesy much?) here's the details:

HELLO ALL RINKUs :DD DOLYCE here. chalet is confirmed. it's at aranda country club, downtown east.
dates are 8th, 9th and 10th of June. monday, tuesday and wednesday. 2nd week of june. the week directly after term test.
it's super peak period so the pricing is $260 per night. which is about $520 for both nights. haven't + gst yet. once i know the total amount, i'll let you all know again :) okay i've checked again and it's peak, not super peak. so it's $240 per night. $480 for 2 nights. $33+ for gst. $513+ for 3d2n :)
so now about the food. do you guys want a bbq or catering of food? cause even though bbq is fun, there have to be waiting + cooks and stuffs. whereas catering, everybody can eat at the same time. so please please hurry decide alright :)

hey everyone, brendon here! first off, i'd like to apologise on the failure of what we call 'sports day' today, mainly cos there was no proper planning, and honestly i can say i kinda thought more for myself than for the whole rinku as to what activities to do and stuff :/ so after some thinking i've made sports day more 'structured' in a sense that there's a proper meeting place, time, etc. so here's the new, and hopefully improved Rinku sports day:
1) MEETING TIME 6PM @ ASTROTURF 2) ACTIVITES SHOULD STOP BY 8:15PM 3) DAY OF 'SPORTS DAY' FOR THE WEEK TO BE STATED IN BLOG ON SATURDAY (by me, hopefully)
this is what i've come up with so far. as for activities, im thinking if i should make it a fixed activity per week OR free & easy. note: if it's free and easy, please make plans and co-ordinate with others as to who's bringing the balls, etc. having the mindset that others will definitely bring something may cause you to end up with nothing to do at all! do give me feedback and suggestions on what else i can improve on, and many apologies to those who felt bored/hungry at the later stages of today due to having nothing to do/waiting for others to finish up :/ ciaoozzzz

once again, we the GLs, really hope you enjoyed the past few days of camp. You guys were really awesome freshies. We love freshies! please join us back again okay. The camp may have ended, but your new found friendships will go on. :) we're one big family along with every other empire because we're from TP.

I think it's really messy to get your contacts from the tagboard so why don't all of you pass your contacts to like Ervina or Vincent and then forward the email to the GLs. :) I'm sorry if you thought that the camp has ended and you won't see us again. Cause you're wrong. We've had many outings and will have MANY MORE etc!

HELLO FRESHIES!
we really hope you had a great time at FOW, even though you might be really worn out and stuffs. thank you for being such awesome freshies for us. Some stuffs to say, our blog is where we'll spread information of empire outings, administrative stuffs and etc. Please join us back on the 2nd day of FOC, 7th April for our JAM&HOP okay! We'll email everyone our contact list next week. meanwhile, i hope you made great friends and felt the TP spirit. We're always a team, be it Rinku, Nexo, Holqa, Zetten or Reliez, we will always be. :) See you on tuesday!

Hey Rinku!
Please check your email! There should be an indem form waiting to be filled. Please fill it up and pass it to either me or one of the subheads by 1st April. (you can do this during the mass GL cheer teaching session)
Also, prepare $26 for empire shirts which also needs to be collected by 1st April. (i know it's a tad ex =/)
Here's the colour coordination for GLs for FOW & FOC
FOW Day 1: White (any white shirt will do) Day 2: Empire Shirt (green one, will pass it to you at FO) Day 3: Blue OTC Shirt(provided)
FOC Day 1: Black (we shall wear our empire shirt!) Day 2: Empire Shirt (green on again!) Day 3:Red FO Shirt (provided)
Sorry for the change! The OTC/FO shirt will be given on day 2. So we'll be wearing it throughout day 3. Through water games. If you think you'll get wet (high possibility), please bring a spare shirt. Any colour is fine i guess, since we'll all be on our way home. :0)
Seeing how you'll be wearing your green shirt for both FOW and FOC, you need to wash it on saturday after FOW. You DIE DIEMUST MUST MUST MUST WEAR THAT SHIRT KAY. If you think you can't wash it in time, pass it to some kind soul who can help you.
there will be a mass GL meeting on the 30th of march, monday. it'll be a meeting to practice the mass GL cheer and coordinate everything with all the other empires. it'll be COMPULSORY.

Okay! So it seems we'll only be making two shirts for FO! For those who wanted four shirts, don't worry! We can make more shirts after we get our freshies. Shirts would also be cheaper since we would be buying in a bigger bulk. I wanted four shirts too. =/
Because of the change in numbers, we need another vote for which colour of each design you would prefer.
That is more or less what the black dri-fit shirt will look like.. Any suggestions on how it could be improved? (ignore the typo on the shirt please.) It's meant to say "Rinku Is Not Killing Unicorns" and the back will say "What's the Rink?"
Any comments on the vintage shirts can also contact me, but if you do not like it, please come up with a suggestion to what could be done. Also, FO is drawing really close, so any changes now would be really troublesome cause we need to give the supplier the order within this week!
Here are your shirt sizes for your OTC and FO shirts. Contact me if you want a different size for your empire shirts (but try not too luhh, a bit mafan..). BUT..... if you really really die die die want a different size, can contact me.

We will be getting 4 empire shirts but only 2 designs! So you'll get 2 different coloured shirts for each design!
We'll be doing this instead of getting 4 different designs to keep the cost low. The supplier has given me the pricing and it'll cost somewhere around S$35. I know it seems pretty costly.. but it's for four shirts! :0) Much cheaper than most of the shirts you have in your cupboards!
I do not have the pictures of the shirts yet but i'll post it up once it's done!
For now, our empire shirts will consist of 2 dri-fit shirts and 2 cotton shirts.
-The 2 dri-fit shirts (1 black/1 white) will be colourful. It'll say "Rinku Is Not Killing Unicorns". In case you've not noticed, the first letter of each word put together spells RINKU. (anyone with other suggestions for the words can contact me straight at 97255431)
-The 2 cotton shirts (1 pale yellow/1 faded green) will be made into a vintage look. It'll say "Everybody Sing A Song" on the top and "Rinku Rinku" at the bottom. And it the middle of the shirt will be a picture of lips you see in some vintage shirts. All the font for the cotton shirt will be grey. [yes, i am aware that the yellow and green i used for the font is not pale yellow/faded green.. If i use those, you think you can see meh.... -.-] [maybe pale yellow is a bad choice of words to describe the colour. it's those yellow colour you see on vintage shirts... the nice ones.]
I know it's hard to imagine so i'll try to post the pics up asap! I swear it's damn nice! Or at least my imagination says it's damn nice. :0)
Some people might be against the idea of having four shirts, so let's all vote! Majority wins, no appeal case please.
We'll sort out which design and stuff to use after that. Poll will close on 15th March cause we need to start making our shirts real soon. So you miss your vote, too bad.
Another thing is that the paper fan idea might be a bit costly.. So another identity that a few of us really like is the AH PEK TOWEL. Kay, it's the kind of towel that you see hawker uncles cleaning tables with. It's CHEAP, HAS MULTIPLE USE, AND IT'S RATHER DISTINCT. :0)
With it's low cost (i'll tell you the price once i find out), each of us can get more than one and do whatever you want with it! You can just tuck it in your pocket leaving half of it hanging out or use it as a cast, an armband, a headband, a bandage, a handkerchief, toilet paper, face-towel etc etc etc. The possibilities are endless!! :0)

Hey guys , i'm sry that this night cycling outing is a bit sudden , but its still ON!
We are meeting at 6 pm marine parademac and we'll walk to ECP to rent the bikes ! It wont be costly , abt 15 dollars ++ haha , we can try to find the cheapest place to rent bikes too!? lol.
Destination ? We will be cycling overnight from ecp to either CITY ? or VIVO. If possible ? we can try geylang? haha. So ,,,, try to make it for this outing thanks !

hello people, its sinyan here. i've checked out NSRCC, its a really cool place with fully air-conditioned 2 level place with glass walls! plus a bbq pit and a kitchen! theres a soccer and basketball court, arcade and bowling alley! so theres quite along of things for us actually :D
anyway, urgent things to be blogged and tell you guys. ryan and myself have came up with the final amount of money that each of us have to pay. after re-calculation its..
$28. its inclusive of staying over and bbq. so we have to collect all the money needed BY THIS WEEK so we can successfully book our wonderful chalet. so the plan is as follow:
wednesday and thursday 6pm mushroom. friday 12pm mushroom. we'll be waiting for for an hour only. there are only 3 days. but if you guys want to give at some random day, feel free to call us. ryan and myself will be there collecting money. our numbers are:

There will be a Rinku Dialogue Session next friday! (30/01/09) Timing will be confirmed on a later date but it will be in the evening when classes are over. =)
